The following was posted on Rivals.com on Monday night and was tweeted out by Andrew Bone, who covers the state of Alabama for Rivals. Apparently, the Cards are parting ways with one of their early commitments in the 2015 class, offensive lineman Troy Thingstad.
This weekend is shaping up to be very big for the University of Louisville football team. The Cards enter the game against rival Kentucky with an 8-3 record and are playing to improve their Bowl Game stock. The Cats are 5-6 and are playing to become bowl eligible. That makes this game exciting enough.
On top of that, Bobby Petrino and the Cards will be hosting a LOT of recruits on campus for the game. The list is pretty incredible. What makes it more impressive to me is that this is rivalry weekend. There are huge games all over the country, and these kids will be right here in the ‘Ville checking out the Cards. That says a lot.
*The “four recruiting sites” that are referenced are 247 Sports, ESPN, Rivals, and Scout.
The Louisville Cardinals just landed their 2nd commitment for the 2015 class. 3-star prospect Troy Thingstad from Mobile, Alabama is listed as a defensive end on 247 Sports and an offensive tackle on Rivals and Scout. He will play offensive tackle at Louisville.
Thingstad is listed at 6’5 and 275 lbs. He also has offers from South Carolina, Kentucky, Southern Miss, and South Alabama.
This is the tweet that he sent out on Tuesday night.
Thingstad joins defensive back T.J. Jallow as the two commits so far for the 2015 class.
