Friday October 25th:
Women’s Volleyball: Emily Juhl had 21 kills, hitting .528 with two blocks to lead the University of Louisville to a 23-25, -25-10,25-17, 25-20 win over Rutgers in Volleyball action Friday night in Piscataway, N.J. Maya McClendon had her seventh double-double of the season with 12 kills and 13 digs. Hannah Kvitle had three aces and three kills at setter. U of L moves to 13-7 and 8-0 in The American.
Women’s Soccer: Junior Erin Yenney scored on a penalty kick to lift Louisville to a 5-4 win in overtime over Cincinnati at Gettler Stadium on Friday night to wrap up the regular season. Louisville improves to 12-4-1 on the year and 8-1-0 in league play. The Bearcats fall to 8-10-1 overall and 4-4-1 in league play. Shannon Dennehey added 2 goals.
Today the AAC announced their first ever monthly awards for golf. If you have been following the Cards this season the Player of the month should be no surprise. Sophomore Laura Restrepo earned the first ever Player of the Month award for the month of September. Out of her first three tournaments she has 3 top 10 finishes including two individual wins and two team titles as well. She won the IU Fall Kickoff shooting a (-5), a (-4) at the Cardinal cup and shot a -2 in the weather shortened Mercedes Benz Collegiate. She finished the month with a 70.4 stroke average
