This week on 55………………..
I am going to switch it up a little bit. After doing 55 for about a year now, I wanted to do something a little different. I know, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I just want to give this a try. Instead of bringing you 55 facts each week, I am going to write a column that I break down into 4 quarters. 1st Quarter: Football, 2nd Quarter: Basketball, 3rd Quarter: Cardinal Athletics, 4th Quarter: Our best stories and weeks best tid-bits that doesn’t fit into the first three-quarters. In weeks there are no Football games, I will make that week a quarter where one fan will be chosen to have a guest spot on 55 and discuss anything UofL. I feel like this will give 55 a fresh look and if you guys don’t like it let me know and I will go back. Like I said, I’m just looking for new ways to do the same thing and that’s entertain you. Wonder who will be the first fan columnist for the 11/17 Episode? Tweet me and hashtag #55GuestSpot. I will only pick out of these people. If you tweet me at @Jeremy_CSZ and say I want to but don’t include the hashtag #55GuestSpot then you are out of luck. Simple directions people…. Without further interruption, here are the things from this week that stand out to me the most. The most ridiculous, interesting and factual things I came across. This is 55……….
This week on 55……….
We talk commitments……HUGE commitments. How the Cards are doing under Bobby P. Red-White scrimmage tickets go on sale. Hot dogs, Nelson, Intrastate rivals and more. Is there one more big commitment in the CARDS for UofL this week? I say L yeah! So strap in, here are the 55 most ridiculous things I have heard, had to debate, or just thought about this past week. This …..is……55.
1) ACC ACC ACC ACC ACC ACC ACC ACC ACC ACC ACC………..I’m really not sure if I said it enough times but ACC ACC ACC ACC ACC ACC. My bad, I know that was the same #1 as it was last week but so much more respect nationally just due to the conference switch. Much more fun league to be a part of as well. Got the following tweet right after the game….
3) Last year we would have “slipped by” or “escaped” This year we shut down a top ACC team. So proud of this team…..
4) Read my experience from my first ACC game here
Here we are for the final installment of Hungry and Driven….for now. First things first. (Don’t Iggy me) Most of you know I have a column I do during peak sports season called 55. That column will be making its debut right before the UL/Miami football game Monday night September 1st. No set time as of now but starting the next week it will be back to its usual time, 7:55. We will be more interactive, more fun and bring you more info than ever. Also plan on having a few guest writers of 55 during the season. Stay tuned. Also here is a sneak peek at the brand new logo for 55 designed by CSZ’s good friend Tim of @UofLBirdsNest. If you aren’t following him on Twitter, do so now. He is awesome.
