While Lamar Jackson will not be wearing a UofL jersey in the fall, that does not mean all hope is lost. UofL football still has some key players returning for the 2018-2019 season, and Bobby Petrino is really excited about how the team is already shaping up.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Quarterback Lamar Jackson has etched his name throughout the University of Louisville’s and Atlantic Coast Conference’s record books.
The junior signal-caller made history on Wednesday, becoming the only player in the ACC’s 65-year history to be named the league’s player and offensive player of the year in consecutive seasons.
The awards were chosen by a vote of a select 45-member media panel and the league’s 14 head coaches.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson and wide receiver Jaylen Smith were selected to the Atlantic Coast Conference’s first team, highlighting seven Cardinals named to the league’s postseason awards list on Monday in a vote by the league’s head coaches and media members.
Wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick, offensive tackle Geron Christian, placekicker Blanton Creque, and cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Trumaine Washington were named honorable mention recipients.
Jaire Alexander’s presence on the field is undeniably a game changer. His numbers since returning have been outstanding, and watching him play is just as fun. David Hale with ESPN has taken notice as well, and makes his case for why Jaire is the best CB in college football.

Donovan Spida Mitchell. He is one of the most beloved cardinals to wear the uniform in recent years, and rightfully so. He has been off to a great start in his professional career and just recently came through with a promise he made to his mom to buy her a new car. Andrew Sharp with Sports Illustrated ranks the top 15 in the rookie class based on the first month’s performance, and Donovan is getting the recognition he deserves.
