Louisville MBB Recap: Cards Give Memphis The Blues In A Blowout

Louisville men’s basketball delivered a dominant showing Saturday at the KFC Yum! Center, cruising past Memphis 99–73 in an matchup that highlighted the Cardinals’ depth and perimeter shooting. Louisville buried 18 three-pointers on 51.4% shooting from beyond the arc and controlled the tempo from the opening minutes, leading by 20 at halftime.

Ryan Conwell paced the Cardinals with 17 points in 26 minutes, while Mikel Brown Jr. followed closely with 16 points in 25 minutes, including 10 in the first half. Sananda Fru continued his efficient play, scoring 11 points in just 21 minutes. Louisville had six players score in double figures, underscoring a balanced offensive attack that never let Memphis gain momentum. Ball movement was a key factor in the win, as the Cardinals recorded 24 assists on 30 made field goals.

Louisville’s bench added 44 points total, maintaining energy and spacing throughout the contest as the Cardinals pulled away in the second half. Adrian Wooley and Kasean Pryor were two of the biggest contributors to that 25-point total off the bench. They provided an early spark off the bench, combining to shoot a perfect 7-for-7 from three-point range in the first half. Pryor scored 11 points and Wooley scored 15 for the game, giving them a combined 26 of Louisville’s 44 total bench points.

The performance marked one of Louisville’s best shooting nights of the season and served as a strong statement in front of the home crowd. With sharpshooting, unselfish play, and defensive pressure fueling the rout, the Cardinals looked poised heading into the remainder of their non-conference slate which includes their matchup with 20th-ranked Tennessee on the road in Thompson-Bowling Arena at 7 pm on Tuesday, December 16th.
