The Day After-FSU

After my 3 mile walk to my car after a long day at the stadium, sipping tea was the only thing I could do without enduring any pain. My back, my feet, my heart….This was a new experience in more ways than one yesterday. I went out and tailgated with my guys Turtle (@TurtleBITW), Matt (@CoachBourbonUSA on Twitter) and Justin (@JustinRenck) from (Cheap Plug). Me and Turts got to old Cardinal Stadium about noonish. Justin got there shortly after and he set up shop right next to THE Red Rage tailgate. A literal museum to all things Cardinal, The Red Rage is what most people would consider, the mecca of the Tailgate world. As seen on Wave3 Sunrise (Cheap plug for WAVE) those guys throw DOWN!!! They got there before 5am and partied the whole day. It was pretty awesome. Thanks to Lauren Jones from Wave3 for getting this together for those guys! Follow the Red Rage on Twitter at @TheRed_Rage so you know when and where to meet on game days!

Louisville lands 4 star WR Desmond Fitzpatrick (2016)

The Cards may have lost to FSU last night on the field but are looking to win big on the recruiting trail. Louisville’s winning started today when they received a commitment from 2016 4 star WR Desmond Fitzpatrick (MI). The 6’2 Fitzpatrick is known as a tremendous route runner with great hands and will fit nicely in Bobby’s system. Fitzpatrick held offers from Louisville, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Illinois, and more and is receiving interest from Notre Dame, OSU, Michigan, and Michigan St.. The latter are sure to offer at some point.

According to most insiders Fitzpatrick will not be the last commit for Petrino and the Cards in the coming days! Bobby is building something special. Follow Desmond Fitzpatrick on twitter @dezfitz8

Red Lightning Spotted….

FSU’s Red Lightning stopped by to take pics with Seth from Cardinal Authentic earlier. Was he getting ready for his post practice meal at Joe’s?

I feel his pain though, they don’t have anything bigger than schmedium for me either……

Make sure you go follow Cardinal Authentic on Twitter and check out their gear at all UofL Sports events.

Go Cards!

Cards #25 in First College Football Playoff Rankings

Photo: Tim Haag/CardinalSportsZone

On Monday evening, the first ever College Football Playoff Rankings were revealed, and the Louisville Cardinals came in at #25. They aren’t ranked in either the AP or the USA Today Coaches Poll, but after tonight, those polls really don’t mean anything now. The College Football Playoff Rankings will determine who the top four teams are at the end of the season to play in the first ever playoff. These rankings are the ones that matter.

The Florida State Seminoles are #2 in the rankings. Future opponent Notre Dame is #10. I could find some satisfaction knocking some teams out of contention. And if that happens, no telling how far the Cards could climb in this thing.

Interview With Danny Mosby From BirdGang Clothing

As I said yesterday, just over a year ago former Card Danny Mosby was brought on to consult with a local business in hopes of getting a buzz out to the Cardinal faithful. 1 year and many changes later himself along with Nappy Roots own Brian “Buffalo Stille” and Ronald “Ron Clutch” Wilson have gotten everything turned around and launched under a new name.
Danny was my teammate at the University of Louisville and next door neighbor at the esteemed Miller Hall. OK not so esteemed but we all had a blast. The very first day I met him I walked up and said I’m Jeremy. He said Naw, you’re Big Dog….I’m Mo Money. It was a natural fit. I just kinda clicked with the whole Male High group. Danny was one of the first people who came to talk to me after my career ending injury. One of the coolest people I’ve ever met. That’s why when he approached me about covering his clothing line it was a no brainer. I sat down to talk to Danny yesterday and asked him a few questions. I hope you enjoy!

UofL Halloween 3rd Down Music: DJ KDOGG Mix

Louisville Halloween

Throughout the day on Monday, UofL fans were all over twitter giving their opinion on what should be the new song that plays on 3rd down during football games. Not sure why a change is needed, but that’s another story. Personally, for this Thursday’s showdown with Florida State, I was hoping for the theme music to “Halloween” on 3rd downs.

55…Kinda 10/27/14

I told you guys last week that 55 would be on bye week this week. Not the usual 55, not the usual logo. I also said I would still bring you a little something this week so that you could get caught up on the week in Cardinal Athletics. The main reason you even read 55 every week. Ok, one of the main reasons, the other is because of my hard hitting journalistic….hahaha ok lets move on. Here’s what happened in Cardinal Athletics this week plus a few thoughts I had about Red-White, FSU and Charlyn Corral….this…is…55….kinda….

  • For now, Jameis Winston will be a part of Thursday Nights epic showdown as #2 FSU heads to town to face YOUR Louisville Cardinals at PJCS. FSU will bring to town a 23 game winning streak, reigning Heisman trophy winner, the fact that they are the reigning and defending National Champions and oh yeah, the fact that they should be the #1 team in the land. It’s the #1 overall total Defense who gives up just 14.6 a game vs FSU’s Defense that gives up 21.6. They score about 37 a game and we put up about 31. It will be a tough game regardless but I am gonna go 34-31 on a John Wallace FG at 0:01. MADNESS ENSUES!!!!!

College Football Top 25 Polls: Week 10

Photo: Tim Haag/

Photo: Tim Haag/

Here are the latest college football top 25 polls. It looks like when Florida State visits on Thursday, they will have that #2 ranking and not #1. If you look at the point totals, they are very close to being #1. It would have been nice to say the top ranked team was coming to town, but either way, it’s the same team. They are still the defending champions with the Heisman Trophy winner. Any national show you watch or listen to still says that their path to the College Football Playoff is the easiest because they don’t really play anybody.

Future Louisville opponent Notre Dame is still in the top 10, Clemson is still ranked, and fellow ACC member Duke is also ranked. The Cards come in at #30 in the AP Poll and #34 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

2015 Louisville QB commit has monster game!

Louisville is making it a priority to hang on to 2015 QB commit Lamar Jackson and last he he showed another reason why. Jackson scored the game winning TD in the final seconds to keep his Boynton Beach team’s undefeated streak alive. Jackson’s TD gave Beach a 63-58 win over Coconut Creek.

Jackson threw for 346 yards (2 TD) while gaining 146 yards (5 TD) on the ground. To put that in prospective Jackson accounted for 492 total yards and SEVEN TD’s……..let me say that again SEVEN TD’s. Bobby has some work to do but it will be great to see Jackson next season in a QB race that looks to be wide open.
