According to Drew Deener, who does TV play-by-play for the Cards, Stephan Van Treese will be staying at UofL and not transferring. If this is true, it will give the Cards even more depth in the front court, as Van Treese can play both the Power Forward and Center positions.

Stephan Van Treese, a 6’8 Junior from Indianapolis, IN, was granted his release today and will leave the UofL program. In 52 career games with the Cards, he averaged 2.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Although those are not big numbers, no one ever questioned his effort when he was on the floor.
Rick Pitino and the University of Louisville received HUGE news this morning when 4* PF Montrezl Harrell committed to play for the Cards next season.
