Kyle Kuric underwent another surgery today, but this one was not a surprise. We knew this one was coming. In fact, it was originally scheduled for last Wednesday but they moved it to today, which I thought was good because then Kyle got to enjoy Thanksgiving with his family. Kuric’s mom Judi posted this update on Facebook.
The ACC announced their All-Conference teams on Monday afternoon, and there was no shortage of Louisville Cardinals, as 10 players were named to various teams. Nobody made the first team, and Sheldon Rankins somehow landed all the way back on the third team.
Of the 10 players, 9 came from the defensive side of the ball, with Geron Christian being the only player on offense to make it. The full teams are listed below.
Some people wondered how long it would take before the Cards made their way into the Top 25 polls. Now we know it took until a 5-0 start. The Cards now find themselves in both the AP and the Coaches poll this week at 24 and 22, respectively. That ranking will be put to the test on Wednesday when Louisville battles #3 Michigan State on the road. Full polls below.
Bobby Petrino was obviously pleased after Louisville came back from down 21-0 to beat Kentucky on Saturday afternoon. Here are his comments after the game. Video and transcript below…
Highlights of Louisville’s 38-24 victory over Kentucky in Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday.
Kentucky was supposed to challenge the Cards in 2006. Not so much. Cards win 59-28.
Pregame scuffle, Kyle Bolin, DeVante Parker. That is your summary for the 2014 game. Enjoy!
“They’ve got more Kentucky players out there than they have Louisville players.” Of course they do.
Seems kind of like a “Flashback Friday” type of video if you really pay attention to the players in it and the years that most are from. But hey, you do you Kentucky.
Louisville freshman Deng Adel has missed the last two games for the Cards, and according to Mike Rutherford of Card Chronicle (and then according to Pitino), he will miss two more weeks.
Garrick McGee and Tobijah Hughley (from Lexington) met with the media on Wednesday to talk about Saturday’s game against Kentucky.
Here are some interesting stats comparing UL and UK football from CFBStats.com. These stats are also filtered to get averages against POWER 5 teams only. This takes away Louisville’s game against Samford and Kentucky’s game against Charlotte. Stats in those games can be very misleading.
18 UL 325.2 ypg
50 UK 395.8 ypg
60 UL 381 ypg
75 UK 351 ypg
The common response when you tell a UK fan about these stats and how we are better is something about SOS or asking who we have played. Well……
You have been waiting all season for this, the UofL vs. UK football game to close the 2015 regular season. With a desperate Kentucky team needing a win to secure bowl eligibility for the first time in five years, the Cardinals travel to Lexington looking to end any bowl aspirations of the ‘Cats for a second straight season.

Bloggin’ Rick Pitino is back on the inter-webs to give his thoughts on the 85-41 victory over St. Francis. With a score like that, you would think that all is well in the mind of Coach Pitino. Also, if you think that, you probably aren’t a coach. We are never satisfied!
In his latest blog, which you can read by clicking here, Pitino talks about some of the things he was not happy with. Don’t worry, he also talks about the positives and the upcoming game against Saint Louis. Here is some of the most recent blog from Coach…
Here is video of Ralph Willard, Damion Lee, Ray Spalding, and Donovan Mitchell after Louisville’s 85-41 win over St. Francis on Tuesday night.
