Adam Hadwin Update: U.S Open Championship

UofL’s own, Adam Hadwin is currently tied for 148 in the 113th U.S Open Championship.

Inclement weather yesterday lead to two delays in the first round of the U.S Open. Louisville’s Adam Hadwin’s tee time was delayed to 6:01pm, forcing him, along with many others, to finish the first round early this morning.

Hadwin got in five holes before officials called golfers in due to darkness at 8:15pm.

Through the first five, Hadwin was even par. He started out this morning making par on six before three straight bogeys to finish out the front nine, scoring 39, +3, on the front nine.

Hadwin started the back nine out with a bogey on 10 followed by two birdies on 11 and 12. The round went downhill from there. Hadwin bogeyed 13, 14 and 15, putting him at +7. On 16, Adam had a double bogey followed by two more bogeys on 17 and 18.

A rough start for Adam Hadwin in the first round. He shot 81 in the first round, +11.

As of right now, the projected cut going into the weekend is +4.

With the greens playing fast, Hadwin needs to take advantage of every shot today to avoid being cut before the weekend.

Adam Hadwin tees off in the second round at 12:01pm. Coverage is live on ESPN.
