It wasn’t pretty, in fact it was actually pretty ugly; however, the Cards got the job done on Senior Night. The Cards found a way to win in an offensive struggle behind the performances of Chinanu Onuaku (17 points 11 rebounds), Damion Lee (14 points), and Quentin Snider (11 points). The Cards took the lead by as many as 11 points, but Georgia Tech wouldn’t go away. In the end, our fearless senior Damion Lee made 2 crucial free throws to make it the final score of 56-53.
It was truly a sight to see on Senior Night. The outpouring love and support from the crowd was felt throughout the game. Trey Lewis hit the 1500 point mark while Damion Lee reached the 2000 point club. Two major accomplishments by two outstanding men. Up next for the Cards, a rematch against Virginia at 8:30 on ESPN. If Louisville wants a shot at the ACC title they’ll have to take care of business on the road first. It was an honor being in the crowd tonight to send off Lee, Lewis and Avare. Rick Pitino’s gifts to Damion Lee and Trey Lewis spoke volumes to what those two mean to this program. Thank you Damion Lee and thank you Trey Lewis. On behalf of the all of CardNation, we always got your back. Go Cards!
