Former Louisville QB, and current Rutgers QB, Kyle Bolin, spoke about the latest investigation plaguing Louisville. In particular, Bolin offered support for Athletic Director Tom Jurich.
On Wednesday, Bolin tweeted, “I have nothing but the utmost respect for Tom Jurich and the love he has for the student-athletes at the University of Louisville.”
The Louisville transfer offered heartfelt support for his former athletics director, Tom Jurich, who has been suspended amid a nationwide investigation by the FBI into basketball recruiting bribery.
After Saturday’s 56-0 loss to Ohio State, the QB was asked to elaborate on the tweet in the post game press conference.
“Tom Jurich, first off, is an outstanding man,” Bolin said. “Everything he did at the University of Louisville, I believe and many people believe, he did what was best for the players.”
Jurich, who is on paid administrative leave, has been widely regarded as the top Athletic Director in the country.
“He was very invested in the success of the players and of the University of Louisville, and he was always very kind to me during my transfer process,” Bolin said. “He called me into his office and told me that if I ever needed anything from him in terms of possibly getting in touch with a school or anything down the road, to reach out to him.”
Bolin went on, “Having a guy like him reach out to student-athletes, especially those who are looking to take the talent they have elsewhere, that tells you about the kind of person he is.”
