TWICA: October 16th


Hello all of you wonderful Card fans out there, although the past couple days and weeks have been rough, it’s time to look at our weekly review of Cardinal Athletics!

Men’s Tennis

The men’s tennis team captured 3 titles this weekend at the Louisville invitational, as Ciro Lampasas teamed with Parker Wynn to win the A division doubles title, and then Ciro went on to win the A division singles title, and then Federico Gomez won the B division singles title. What a great weekend!

Women’s Tennis

Mia Schmidt-Jorgensen was defeated in the championship match of the B-flight singles during the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals, she was the last Card standing after the 4 day event.\

Women’s Soccer (9-6)

Vs Pittsburgh: W 3-0

Next Week: 10/19 Vs #22 Wake Forest (7 PM, ACC Network Extra), 10/22 At #5 North Carolina (10 AM)

Men’s Golf

Our men’s golf team placed 3rd out of 18 teams in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, with Simon Zach shooting a 9 under par, good for third-best in school history!

Women’s Golf

Our women’s Golf team finished 8th out of 18 teams in the Tar Heel Invitational, with Senior Molly Skapik shooting a career-best 7 under par, tied for sixth-best in school history!

Next Week: 10/21-22 Cardinal Cup

Swim

Our women’s swim team came in a extremely narrow 2nd place at the SMU Classic, with Mallory Comerford winning the 100 Freestyle in 47.00, the top time in the country thus far this year!

Women’s Volleyball (13-5)

Vs Clemson: W 3-0

Vs Georgia Tech: W 3-0

Next Week: 10/20 At Miami (FL) (7 PM), 10/22 At Florida State (1 PM)

Cross Country

The men’s cross country team finished 12th at Pre-Nationals, with the top runner being Redshirt freshman Albert Kosgei, finishing 5th with a time of 24:08.5

The women’s cross country team also finished 12th at the same event, with the top runner being sophomore Dorcas Wasike, finishing 11th with a personal-best time of 20:03.8
