An epic battle took place Friday night between two big time high school programs in south Florida. Miami Northwestern and Miami Central squared off with the winner a virtual lock to win the district title.
Why am I talking about Florida high school football you may ask? It’s because in this game, 3 UofL Football commits and a least 1 target played each other. So, I figured our site readers may be interested in some of the stats and highlights from these players.

The game was a hard-fought, hard-nosed battle eventually won by Northwestern 21-7.
However, the 21 points given up by Miami Central don’t necessarily tell the whole story, as heralded 3 star UofL commits ILB Robert Hicks III and CB Chandler Jones both played well.

Hicks had a big hit filling the gap on a running play and he also had a QB hurry that forced Northwestern to commit a holding penalty. Hicks also did well in coverage. He narrowly missed tipping an Atwell pass.
Chandler Jones did record an interception and he also had a tackle. The tackle wasn’t just any tackle. It was a pretty massive hit.
UofL target and Miami Central RB James Cook had a decent game, rushing 10 times for 87 yards.

The star of the show offensively in the game was Northwestern’s Tutu Atwell. The UofL commit’s stats in this game show he’s got the ability to be a big playmaker on offense. Atwell carried the ball 9 times for 72 yards, 52 of those yards on 1 run. He also completed 11 of 22 passes for 222 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
