The University of Louisville Men’s Basketball team had their first exhibition game on Monday night against Kentucky Wesleyan. The offense sparked the Cards to a dominating 101-64 victory. Louisville shot 54% from the field for the game and was 7-10 from the three point line in the first half.
Louisville was led by Senior Anas Mahmoud who scored 20 and blocked 7 shots. Ray Spalding also had a big game with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Coach Padgett was pleased with the offense, but he had to get on his players for not playing their style. Padgett said his team starting trying to win the game with their offense, instead of their defense. At halftime, Padgett told his players to focus on defense and the change after the half was significant. Kentucky Wesleyan shot 65% from the field in the first half, but only shot 46% after the break.
The Cards return to action at the KFC Yum! Center Tuesday for a 7:00 PM tipoff against Coach Scotty Davenport and the Bellarmine Knights.
