Louisville At Florida State: Pregame Breakdown

The Louisville Cardinals (11-4) travel to Tallahassee for tonight’s game at 9pm to take on the No. 23 Florida State Seminoles (12-3). FSU is currently a 6-point favorite and the game can be seen on the ACC Network.

Both teams enter tonight’s game coming off road losses to top-25 opponents. Louisville fell to Clemson and FSU lost to Miami. However, FSU has something Louisville doesn’t, a top-25 victory. Florida State knocked off UNC in the game before their loss at Miami, so the Seminoles are not to be taken lightly.

Florida State is led by guard play. Terance Mann leads the team with 14.5 points per game and fellow backcourt member Braian Angola isn’t far behind him at 13.3 points per game. Forward Phil Cofer carries his own load with 13.7 points per game. Angola is the X-factor in this game. He’s a solid shooter and worthy defender that can get hot from deep and change an entire game, however if his shot is off, he will continue to shoot right into the defense’s hands. If the Cards can force contested shots and get the Seminoles out of their rhythm then they will have a chance at the end to win this game.

Louisville hasn’t beaten a ranked road team in an unacceptable amount of time (I think back to 2014). People thought the Clemson loss was a bad one but in all reality it wasn’t at all. Louisville fought and led against a top-25 team on the road, but couldn’t finish the job. Tonight, the Cards break the losing streak against ranked road opponents.

Louisville 74- Florida State 72.

Go Cards!
