Louisville at NC State: Pregame Breakdown

Louisville travels to NC State to take on the Kevin Keatts led Wolfpack today at 6pm on ESPN. NC State is currently favored by 1.5 points.

Since Keatts has taken over the job after leaving UNC Wilmington, the Wolfpack have shown a lot of improvement and especially lately. NC State suffered a setback in their last game by losing at Georgia Tech by 3, but the game before that the Wolfpack demolished FSU 92-72.

Guard Torin Dorn and Center Omer Yurtseven headline the Wolfpack lineup. Dorn is an athletic scorer who is also very active and Yurtseven is a skilled post player. One of those two players has to be shut down, both of them cannot have a big day. Coach Keatts also has the Wolfpack playing a very up-tempo pace and loves to put points on the board. Louisville will have to limit their turnovers and play good transition defense in order to slow down the Wolfpack.

This is a must-win for Louisville and it’s also a must-win for NC State. A lot is at stake in this game, so expect the atmosphere to be hectic. Louisville played a fantastic 38 minutes against Virginia (and that’s all I have to say about that *Forrest Gump voice*) and if the Cards can match that intensity we saw Thursday night, I believe they’ll win this one.

Louisville 82 – NC State 76.

Go Cards!
