UofL Football continues to add quality depth for the offensive line on the recruiting trail. Tonight, they picked up a commitment from 2020 FL OT Jovens Janvier.
I never thought this day ever come but I’m proud to announce that I will be committing to the University of Louisville 🐔🔴⚫️⚪️ #UNCAGED20 @JerryRecruiting @SleeperAthletes @Cassidy_Rob @ULFBRecruiting @UofLFootball @coachstubbs95 @guardo66 @iRepCoaches @Coach_Marroquin pic.twitter.com/Sr2Obidf4X

The 6’5 320 lbs Janvierplays his high school ball at Champagnat Catholic in Hialeah, FL. He chose UofL over offers from Florida, LSU, Nebraska, and Pitt among others.
UofL is getting another big, powerful, athletic offensive lineman. Janvier has shown excellent versatility in being able to play both OG and OT.
The footwork of Janvier is good. As a T he can keep edge rushers in front and use leverage if they try to bull rush him.
For his age, he’s very strong and looks like he could have a chance to play from day one. It’s crazy because he still has another whole year in high school. He, like many UofL offensive line recruits recently, loves to throw guys around and drive them into the ground. He will stay engaged in a block until the whistle blows.
Janvier is very good at using his hands to get leverage to completely obliterate defenders. He uses his giant legs to drive defenders back on run plays and open gaping holes for his RBs.
He’s got a little Lukayus McNeil in him, but I would argue he’s a little more athletic. With an entire year of high school to go, he will only get better. It’s important to note that any fear of UofL having issues recruiting FL with the recent coaching turnover appears to be unfounded so far.
Janvier adds quality depth to UofL’s offensive line and, as we know, the difference between good and great teams is depth. I think he will have a good chance to play as a freshman as his body appears to be physically ready. Regardless, the offensive line just got better for Mike Summers and Bobby Petrino.
