Will Smith is on absolute fire right now for the Tulsa Drillers. He hit .378 with 17 total hits in 11 games, 6 games included multiple hits. Kyle Funkhouser was promoted this week to AAA in the Detroit Tigers organization and if he continues his surge of great performances on the mound he may be on the Tigers Roster in September.
Corey Ray is going nuts right now for Biloxi as he hit 4 home runs, had 12 RBI’s and 12 stolen bases. Logan Taylor was signed by the Reds on July 12th. Devin Hairston is currently on an 11 game hitting streak for Carolina.

Major Leagues
Adam Duvall hit .211 this week with 8 hits, 2 doubles, and 2 home runs, accompanied by 11 RBI’s for a Reds team that has become one of the better offenses in the National League lately. At the All-Star Break, Duvall is slashing .204/.286/.398 with 15 doubles, 14 home runs, 60 RBI’s, and 35 runs scored.
Adam Engel capped off his week with a double after hitting .185 for the White Sox. Going into the All-Star Break the defensive specialist has 11 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 18 RBI’s, 31 runs scored and is hitting .218/.272/.302.
Chad Green started July off on a scoreless streak but that has come to a crashing halt in his last two appearances. Both against Baltimore and Cleveland, Green gave up home runs that resulted in multiple runs being scored during his innings of work. Despite these few blips, “Jolly” is heading to the break as one of the best relievers in the American League with a 2.74 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 57 strikeouts in 46 innings of work.
Matt Koch was recalled to the Diamondbacks on July 12th where he pitched 1 inning in relief. This point at the Big League Level, Koch is 5-4 with a 4.33 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts in 72.2 innings.
Nick Burdi was placed on the 60-day Disabled List by the Pittsburgh Pirates at the beginning of the season but has begun throwing at the Spring Training Home of the Pirates.
AAA
Kyle McGrath pitched 4 times this week and in 3 of those 4 outings, he was lights out. His lone poor outing came on one pitch that was hit a long way for a 3 run home run. To this point at the AAA level, McGrath has really settled in and is 3-2 with a 3.57 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, with 33 strikeouts in 35.1 innings.
Josh Rogers took the loss in both starts for the Railriders after getting touched up for 19 hits and 9 earned runs in 11.2 innings. Rogers has had a pretty strong season to this point even with the struggles recently, he is 6-7 with a 3.92 ERA, and has 78 strikeouts in 103.1 innings pitched.
Cole Sturgeon had 5 hits in 7 games, .250 with 2 RBI’s for Pawtucket. Since being called up to AAA, Sturgeon is hitting .223/.285/.293 with 3 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs, 13 RBI’s, and 12 runs scored.
Dean Kiekhefer pitched 4.2 innings for Nashville and gave up 2 earned runs while striking out 6. In 18 games with Nashville, Kiekhefer is 5-0 with a 4.24 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 25 strikeouts in 23.1 innings.
Chris Dominguez hit .241 with 1 home run 7 RBI’s for Syracuse. On his quest to get back to the Big Leagues, Dominguez is averaging .223/.280/.372 and has 8 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs, 20 RBI’s, and 14 runs scored for the Nationals farm team.
Kyle Funkhouser was promoted to the Toledo Mud Hens on July 10th but has yet to pitch for the Tigers AAA affiliate.

Derek Self, an Eastern League All-Star with Funkhouser, pitched in 4 games totaling 5.1 innings, only surrendering 1 earned run in his first outing for Harrisburg. Self has put together a solid year for the Senators with a 3-2 record that includes 6 saves, a 3.13 ERA, and 26 strikeouts in 37.1 innings of work.
Nick Solak hit .170 this week for Montgomery that included 1 double, 2 home runs, and 4 RBI’s. Halfway through the season, Solak is slashing .276/.379/.442 with 12 doubles, 2 triples, 13 home runs, 54 RBI’s, 17 stolen bases and 62 runs scored.

The All-Star is starting to look everything like the 1st round pick he was two summers ago. At this point, he has 23 doubles, 6 triples, 16 home runs, 51 RBI’s, 56 runs scored and 27 stolen bases.

Lincoln Henzman threw twice this week for Winston-Salem totaling 5 innings, striking out 2 and allowing 3 earned runs. Since his promotion to Advanced-A, Henzman is 0-1 with a 7.88 ERA, 2.13 WHIP, and 2 strikeouts in 8 innings.
Devin Hairston is currently on an 11 game hitting streak and hit .333 with 2 doubles, 1 home run and 5 RBI’s for Carolina. Since being promoted, Hairston is slashing .278/.321/.380 with 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 5 RBI’s in 20 games.
Jeff Thompson pitched in 3 games, totaled 4.2 innings, struck out 3 and gave up 2 earned runs. So far for Lakeland this year, Big Jeff is 1-0 with a 7.82 ERA including 7 strikeouts in 12.2 innings.
Brendan McKay was activated off of the DL on July 9th and is currently on a rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast Rays.

Colby Fitch totaled 5 hits in 7 games. Through 47 games, Fitch is hitting .261/.349/.416 with 12 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs and 18 RBI’s.
