UofL Football’s wide receiving corps just got a big new weapon today with the commitment of 3 star WR Stanley King out of Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, NJ.

The 6’5 190 lbs King chose UofL over offers from Virginia, Maryland, Boston College, and NC State, among others. Lonnie Galloway was the primary recruiter for UofL per 247sports.
What UofL got in Stanley King is a playmaking WR, with a knack for getting open a lot. King is a player that can definitely be a number 1 option at WR.
In watching his Hudl highlights, King does everything you want a 6’5 WR to do; he has speed, size, athleticism, and, most importantly, great hands.
The first thing I noticed was his speed. He can get by DBs with impunity on deep routes with it. Once he catches it, he’s a threat to take it in for 6 every time.
King is a great jump ball WR, much like Devante Parker was. A QB can just throw it up to King and he will go get it. He showed the ability to high point the ball with his 6’5 frame.
Though only weighing 190, he showed the ability to win hand fights and shoving matches with DBs to be able to catch the pass. His strength is good for being lanky and will likely get better with a college strength and conditioning program.
King shows excellent ability to track the ball in flight and to adjust his position to make the catch if the ball isn’t thrown perfectly. In quite a few of his highlights, you will see him adjust to underthrown balls or balls thrown behind him.
King’s hands are excellent as well. He appears to be a reliable pass catching target because of his sure hands. Rarely will you see him let the ball get to his body. His long arms and good hands give him a big catch radius.
UofL got a high ceiling WR. If they can tap his potential, Stanley King could be a monster. He already has speed, the ability to get open, and the ability to make both easy and difficult catches. One position Coach Petrino has recruited well since his second stint started is WR. That continues with the commitment of this talented 2019 WR Stanley King.
