The season is winding to a close for the guys in Minor Leagues and in the Major Leagues the playoff races are heating up. With September call-ups, 7 Cardinal 9 Alumni are currently on a Major League roster with a few more knocking on the door who could potentially be called up as their minor league playoffs come to an end.
For some guys, it is time for relaxation and spending time with loved ones, for others they gear up for instructs, the Arizona Fall League or winter ball in much warmer climate. For some their season totals have been listed because their year has concluded, for others, they are still playing and are on the weekly update schedule.

Major Leagues
Adam Duvall was hitless in 5 games for the Braves this week.
Adam Engel hit just .185 this week with an RBI for the White Sox.
Chad Green pitched in 3 games, totaling 3.2 innings, striking out 5 and allowing 1 earned run on a home run against the White Sox.
Josh Rogers looked stronger in his second start for Baltimore but unfortunately took the loss this week against Seattle. Rogers went 5.1 innings, struck out 4 and gave up 2 earned runs on 4 hits but the Orioles offense offered no support.
Dean Kiekhefer was called up to Oakland with the September roster expansions and while he did pitch on September 4th he gave up one hit and did not record an out.
Matt Koch was also a September roster add for the Diamondbacks and coming out of the bullpen this week, Koch went 1.2 innings, gave up 2 hits and struck out 1 while not allowing a run.
Nick Burdi was called up to the Pittsburgh Pirates on September 1st when rosters expanded but has yet to make his Major League Debut.
AAA
Kyle McGrath threw 3 innings over two appearances and struck out 5 for El Paso.
Will Smith went 3/24 but he did blast another home run and a double to go along with 2 RBI’s for Oklahoma City.
-Chris Dominguez’s season wrapped up with the Syracuse SkyChiefs this week without a call-up to the big club despite the sell-off that the Nationals had over the last few weeks. Dominguez finished the season with 67 total hits, 16 doubles, 1 triple, 9 home runs, 45 RBI’s, 7 stolen bases, 31 runs scored, an OPS of .699 and a slash line of .243/.293/.406.
-Cole Sturgeon completed his first major stint in AAA this season. Between AA and AAA, Sturgeon slashed .266/.328/.387 with an OPS of .715, 97 total hits, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 9 home runs, 38 RBI’s, and 13 stolen bases.
-Zack Burdi has finished his rehab assignment this season with the AZL Sox with an 0-1 record, 7 strikeouts in 6.1 innings, an ERA of 2.84, WHIP of 1.42, and a BAA of .217.
-Kyle Funkhouser went down with a fractured foot after stumbling over a broken piece of sidewalk and unfortunately, his strong season has come to an end prematurely. Between AA and AAA this year, Funk was 4-7 with a 3.96 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and had 96 strikeouts in 97.2 innings.
AA
Nick Solak was on fire this week hitting .412 with 3 RBI’s and a double for the Biscuits.
Corey Ray hit .263 and finished the week on a 4 game hitting streak. While he did not add any home runs to his total, the Southern League MVP still had an RBI and 2 stolen bases.
-Derek Self finished his season with the Harrisburg Senators by going 6-2 with a 2.88 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, .251 BAA, and 43 strikeouts in 53.1 innings out of the bullpen.
-Jeff Arnold’s 9th season in professional baseball has concluded and across 3 different levels, the pride of Male High School hit .173/.266/.257 with an OPS of .524, 35 total hits, 8 doubles, 3 home runs, 21 RBI’s, and 19 runs scored.
-Grant Kay was placed on the 7 day DL at the start of the season and did not play in any games this season for the Montgomery Biscuits.
-Jared Ruxer was released on 5/23 by the Kansas City Royals
-Joe Filomeno was released on 4/23 by the Texas Rangers.
A Advanced
Drew Ellis hit .222 for Visalia with an RBI.
Lincoln Henzman did not factor in the decision in his latest start for the Dash. The White Sox #30 prospect according to MLP Pipeline, went 4 innings, gave up just 2 hits and 0 earned runs while striking out 2.
-Devin Hairston’s season with the Carolina Mudcats is completed and the middle infielder totaled 69 hits, 10 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run, 2 stolen bases, 39 runs scored, an OPS of .551, and a slash line of .204/.291/.260.
-Brendan McKay was placed on the 7-day disabled list on August 30th which will end his season this year. At the plate, across a couple of levels, McKay averaged .214/.368/.359 with an OPS of .727, 41 total hits, 8 doubles, 1 triple, 6 home runs, 39 RBI’s, and 32 runs scored. On the mound, McKay finished 5-2 with a 2.41 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, .196 BAA, and 103 strikeouts in 78.1 innings.
-Blake Tiberi has finished the season with the St. Lucie Mets and across multiple levels, Tiberi slashed .242 /.342/.336 with an OPS of .678, 95 total hits, 18 doubles, 2 triples, 5 home runs, 38 RBI’s, 65 runs scored, and 6 stolen bases.
-Jeff Thompson was released by the Detroit Tigers on July 21st.
A
Colby Fitch went 2/17 at the plate for the Blue Claws this week. Fitch will wrap the season up with a three-game series against Harrington and the Intimidators.
Drew Harrington took the L in his start this week for Kannapolis as he went without a strikeout in 4.2 innings after giving up 4 earned runs on 7 hits.
Devin Mann hit .211 with 1 double for Great Lakes this week as the end of the Loons season approaches.
-Kade McClure was placed on the 7 day DL on May 14th which prematurely ended his season. Overall, McClure finished 3-1 with a 3.02 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, .265 BAA, and 42 strikeouts in 41.2 innings for Kannapolis.
-Dace Kime retired from professional baseball on June 16th.
A Short Season
Josh Stowers batted .227 with 2 doubles, 1 home run, 3 RBI’s and 5 stolen bases for Everette as he continues to impress during his first season in professional baseball.
Riley Thompson made one start for the Emeralds, going 5 innings, giving up 3 earned runs and striking out 7, while not factoring into the decision.
-Adam Wolf’s summer has come to an end with the Connecticut Tigers. Across a couple of different levels, Wolf finished 1-1 with a 2.19 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, .224 BAA, and 32 strikeouts in 37 innings.
Rookie Level
Austin Conway pitched twice for the Voyagers going 2.1 innings, striking out 2 and giving up 1 earned run.
-Liam Jenkins first summer in professional baseball has come to a conclusion with the AZL Indians. Jenkins finished the season 4-0 with a 4.91 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, .228 BAA, and 37 strikeouts in 22 innings.
