Fans got their first opportunity to see the new look Cards during Sunday’s Red-White scrimmage. The White team ended up winning 55-41 thanks to a strong performance by Jordan Nwora. Nwora scored 18 and grabbed 11 rebounds. The Red team was led by Christen Cunningham, who debuted with 15 points on 6 of 7 shooting.
After the game Coach Mack had a measured reaction to his team’s performance, not wanting to put too much stock into one scrimmage. He did praise V.J. King (19 pts) and Dwayne Sutton for their effort and the work that they put in during the offseason.
The Cards return to the Yum! Center next Sunday, the 28th, for an exhibition against Bellarmine.
