Tuesday was a much needed, joy filled night in Louisville. The Cards took down the number 9 team in the nation 82-78. The Cards were in control for the majority of the game, but Michigan State pulled back and forced the game into overtime. However, Louisville’s clutch free throw shooting allowed them to come away with the win.
Ryan McMahon had a career night with 24 points, including hitting 12 of 13 free throws. Jordan Nwora pitched in 14 points, while Cunningham and Sutton each scored 13. Louisville got a signature win in November and they still have plenty of opportunities for more signature wins and a possible return to the big dance.
The Cards return to action on Saturday at Seton Hall at noon.
