Louisville fell to 6-3 after a 67-68 loss at Indiana (8-2) Saturday afternoon. The Cards were led by Jordan Nwora, who had 24 points and 14 rebounds. Christen Cunningham added 16 points as well. Indiana got 21 points from Romeo Langford and 15 from Juwan Morgan.
Louisville held a lead for the first 31 minutes of this game. The Cards had what felt like a dominating first half but only led by 5 at the break. Indiana used a Rob Phinisee 3-pointer with 1:24 left to take the lead for good.
Aside from Nwora, the team’s struggles on offense continued. Cunningham’s 16 included a couple meaningless threes late. Chris Mack’s team played fine defensively, but the offense was one-dimensional for the majority of the game.
Louisville only shot 13 free throws today. When this team doesn’t get to the line, it just isn’t good enough offensively right now to make up for it. This will ultimately go down as a huge missed opportunity for the Cardinals. That being said, I think Indiana is going to be a top 25 team most of the season, and Louisville probably wins this game comfortably at home.
Up Next: The Cards are back home Wednesday night against Lipscomb at 7:00 ET.
