In a ‘grind-it-out’ for a full 40 minutes game, Louisville prevailed over Lipscomb tonight.
The Bisons battled the Cards the entire night. Any time Louisville would extend its lead, Lipscomb quickly and methodically climbed back in. Ultimately, Louisville closed this one out to a final score of 72-68.
Louisville was led by Jordan Nwora’s 22 points and 9 rebounds. Dwayne Sutton had another big performance with 14 points (including a huge contested three down the stretch) and 9 rebounds. Malik Williams also had himself a night, he finished with a double-double, 10 points and 13 rebounds.
It wasn’t pretty, but Lipscomb is a very good mid-major team. Before the game, a graphic was shown with the top-10 mid-majors, Lipscomb was in there. Louisville handled their business tonight, a win was their only goal and they achieved that. Onto the next one.
Up next: Louisville hosts Kent State on Saturday at 4pm.
