The Cards returned to action on Sunday night to take on the Miami Hurricanes. The guys in white and red got off to a slow start and allowed Miami to get a 15 point lead halfway through the first half. The Cards were rescued by Jordan Nwora, who’s offense arrived and helped Louisville go into the locker room only trailing by 1. Louisville outlasted a Miami team that was gassed in the second half and got their first conference win by a score of 90-73.
Nwora was the leading scorer (20 pts), but Malik Williams was the player of the game as he contributed 19 points and 11 rebounds. Sutton pitched in 13 points and McMahon had 12 points. Louisville assisted on 19 of 33 made baskets and they had 18 second chance points.
Louisville will travel to Pittsburgh on Wednesday night and then to Chapel Hill on Saturday. The Cards return to the Yum! Center on January 16th.
