Round 2 of Louisville and North Carolina did not go the Cardinals’ way. UNC dominated the boards and had 18 second chance points. The highest attendance of the season (19,985) watched the Cards lead for only 2 minutes of game time and Louisville ended up losing 79-69. The Cards only shot 9 free throws, while UNC was 15-19 from the free throw line.
Louisville was led in scoring by Dwayne Sutton, who scored 19 points and had 9 rebounds. Christen Cunningham also played well as he contributed 15 points and 9 assists. Jordan Nwora was held to 11 points, while Malik Williams chipped in 9.
Louisville has no time to sulk, as they take on Virginia Tech on Monday. The Cards return to the Yum! Center on Tuesday, February 12th to take on Duke.
