The Cards got off to a good start when they hosted the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday. Louisville went into halftime with a ten point lead, but only scored 15 points in the second half, which allowed Virginia to come away with the 64-52 victory. The Cards hit 10 threes in the first half and held Virginia to 38% shooting. The second half was the polar opposite as the Cavaliers shot 60%, while Louisville only shot 20%.
Louisville was led in scoring by Jordan Nwora with 17 points. Ryan McMahon was the next highest scorer with 12 points and Dwayne Sutton led the team with 11 rebounds. Louisville only had 5 turnovers as a team, but they got beat on the boards and they struggled to score inside.
Louisville travels to Boston College on Wednesday and they return to the KFC Yum! Center next Sunday for Senior Day against Notre Dame.
