
On Friday morning, the Louisville Cardinals returned home to be compete in The Cardinal Classic.
In the first game, the Cardinals faced off against the Sycamores of Indiana State. Indiana State opened up the scoring at the top of the first inning and the Cards answered back in the second inning with Snyder’s base hit. In the bottom of the sixth, the Cardinals took full advantage of the energy and scored six runs on two errors by the Sycamores which allowed the Cards to gain three hits and two walks. Senior Megan Hensley striked out six of the four innings of pitching. Redshirt Freshman Taylor Roby picked up her first career save too.

In the second game, the Cardinals took on the Missouri Tigers. Missouri jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the second before the Cards answered with two runs in the fourth inning. Freshman Rebecca Chung’s two home runs in the bottom of the sixth inning helped jump start a three run inning that provided the Louisville Cards with the necessary support to win the game. Sophomore Danielle Watson went the distance and pitched seven innings with striking out five of them.
