Ulmer Stadium

Over the weekend, the Louisville Cardinals Softball team took on the Syracuse Orange in the beginning of the ACC conference play. On Friday, the Cardinals were down 2-1 early in the game before Senior Sidney Melton was able to hit a three run double in the bottom of the sixth to give the Cards a 4-2 victory. Then, on Saturday, the Cardinals offense was powered by underclassmen Rebecca Chung, Taylor Roby, and Maddy Newman. These performances combined with Megan Hensley striking out five batters and only allowing two hits helped lead the Cards to a win. The Cards were able to get a 8-0 victory going into Sunday as they attempted to try for a sweep. On Sunday, Syracuse took advantage early on and the Cards didn’t look back. Syracuse took the game in extra innings with a score of 4-2. Even though the Cards lost, Danielle Watson struck out a career high of eleven batters.

Up Next for the Cards: Notre Dame is this coming weekend before coming home to face Indiana on Tuesday 26th.
