The Cards traveled to South Bend, Indiana to take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. The Irish and the Cards played a double header on Saturday since weather conditions caused Friday’s match to be postpone to the following day. The Cardinals offense couldn’t get started in either game with only scoring one run in each game. Notre Dame jumped on the Cardinals early and roughed up the Cardinals’ Danielle Watson. She gave up three runs in the first inning of game one and five runs in four innings that she pitched in game two.
On Sunday, the Cardinals offense jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and Megan Hensley’s outstanding pitching led the Cardinals to a victory to avoid the sweep in South Bend.
