UofL’s new staff values special teams. Tonight, they proved it by picking up a commitment from 2020 GA K/P Brock Travelstead.

The 6’1 190 lbs Travelstead chose UofL over offers from Air Force, Army, and Wyoming, among others per 247sports. Travelstead plays for North Palding High School in Dallas, GA.

Travelstead is both a K and P for his high school team and is equally adept at both. As a P, Travelstead averaged 42.9 yards per punt with a long of 59 yards last year. He downed 15 punts inside the 20. As a K, he had 60 touchbacks on kickoffs. He was a perfect 39 of 39 on PATs and 18/19 on FGs. Of those 18 made FGs, 4 were over 40 yards including two 46 yarders per maxpreps.

Travelstead earned 2nd Team Junior All-American team honors from Maxpreps. He is also a 5 Star level kicker per Chris Sailer. Sailer also named him a 2018 First Team All-American K. Sailer is a well known and renowned kicking coach. Check out some of Travelstead’s highlights here.

Scott Satterfield appreciates all three aspects of the game of football and I think we see it here with the commitment of Brock Travelstead. Travelstead has a big leg and is quite accurate. With his punting ability being taken into account, this is a nice pickup.
