For those that attended a fan event at the Yum Center a while back, Coach Chris Mack addressed the crowd and he hinted at a new design for the home court of the Cardinals.

The design was unveiled today and it is a return to UofL’s roots as the Dunking Cardinal will be the new midcourt logo for Denny Crum Court. Meanwhile, the baseline and sideline out of bounds areas will be black. On each baseline, “Louisville” is written in white block lettering that is outlined in red. Also, a new feature is a group of 3 Fleur De Lis arranged on either side of the “Louisville” script on both baselines. The lanes will still be red. Also, there will now be two three-point lines as the men’s line has been moved back this year.

Chris Mack has not been shy about his love of the retro logo. Earlier this year, UofL showed off their new practice court at the Planet Fitness Kueber Center (formerly the Little Yum). It features the Dunking Cardinal as well, with the exception that it goes the length of the court.

Now let’s hope Adidas will furnish permanent uniforms with the Dunking Cardinal on the shorts.
