UofL Men’s Basketball has released the newest episode of “Welcome to the Ville” and this week’s featured basketball player is Jaelyn Withers. Withers is a skilled freshman F from NC.
In the video, Withers discusses the fact he is from a family of basketball players; with both his parents having played. He discusses what age he fell in love with basketball and how having his siblings at his games made him play better.
Withers then discusses how he came to choose the number 3 as his UofL jersey number. It has a family tie, but Dwayne Sutton also played a role in his taking this jersey number. What role did he play? For that, you have to watch the video.
Withers then discusses his recruitment. He talks about the stress of it, how much he loved Louisville from the beginning, when he was definitely sold on committing to Louisville, and “Louisville Live.”
Finally, Withers talks about adjusting to college basketball coming in from high school, how a family atmosphere is what he loves most about UofL, and how he has some lofty goals for the upcoming season.
Check out the video below to get to know a little about UofL freshman F Jaelyn Withers.
“The thing I love most about this program? It would have to be that we’re all a family.”
