Malik Cunningham To Start For Injured Jawon Pass Against WKU

UofL Football has announced that Jawon Pass will miss today’s game against WKU with a injury to his lower extremity.

There had been rumors swirling that Pass was dealing with a foot injury. Those rumors are now confirmed; although we don’t know the specifics of the injury or its exact location.

Malik Cunningham will now step in to the starting spot for the Cards. Many UofL fans know just how electric he is as a runner and it should serve him well in Coach Scott Satterfield’s offense.

However, it will be interesting to see how well he does in the passing game. Cunningham had one pass last week against EKU which completed to Justin Marshall for 24 yards.

Last season, Cunningham completed 40 passes on 67 attempts for a completion percentage of 78%. However, he never attempted more than 18 passes in game. He threw for 473 yards, 1 TD, and 1 interception.

As a runner, Cunningham ran 79 times for 497 yards and 5 TDs. He averaged 6.3 yards per rush and his longest run was 75 yards against UK.
