Louisville Men’s Basketball lost to Florida State on Saturday. This loss, coupled with the loss to UK on December 28th, have dropped the Cards out of the top 10 of the AP Top 25 and USA TODAY Coaches Poll for the first time this season. Louisville is now ranked 13th in the AP and 11th in the Coaches Poll.
The Cards are ranked 13th, one spot ahead of rival Kentucky. Gonzaga remains at number 1 while the rest of the top 5 is Duke, Kansas, Baylor, and Auburn. Butler, San Diego State, Michigan State, Oregon, and Florida State round out the top 10. Ohio State and Maryland at 11 and 12 are the only other teams ranked ahead of UofL.
Gonzaga, Duke, and Kansas all received first place votes. Gonzaga snagged the majority with 54. Duke garnered 9 while Kansas received 2.
Louisville is ranked just outside the top 10 at 11th in the coaches poll. Gonzaga remains at 1, Duke sits at 2, Kansas at 3, Baylor at 4, and Auburn at 5. The top 10 is rounded out by Butler, San Diego State, Michigan State, Oregon, and Florida State.
Gonzaga, Duke, and Kansas all received first place votes. The Zags got the majority with 27. Meanwhile, Duke had 4 and Kansas had 1.
Louisville returns to action tonight as they face conference foe Miami at 7 PM EST at the KFC YUM! Center. They will look to end their two game skid and get back to their winning ways.
