After leading 10-8 early on in the first half, Louisville went on an 18-2 run and extended the lead to 18 points. The Cards led 43-32 at halftime. Out of the break, Louisville failed to keep up its intensity and let Miami hang around. The Canes got the lead down to 5 late in the half after trailing by about 10 throughout most of the second period. Louisville managed to pull away in the final 5 minutes and get its first win in 20 days.
Louisville was the better team throughout the night and ended up winning by a comfortable margin. It was never really in doubt despite the run by Miami in the second half, but its a game that the Cards led by 18 early on. It should have never gotten that close. There’s not much that can be taken from this game. Louisville ultimately took care of business and got the win at home like they were expected to.
