Hailey Van Lith Named Washington Player Of The Year By Maxpreps

The off season awards are continuing to pile up as yet another current or future Cardinal received an award. This time it was future Louisville Cardinal Hailey Van Lith being honored.

Hailey was awarded the Maxpreps Washington Player Of The Year award. Awards are nothing new for this young lady. Hailey is currently a top 8 prospect in the class of 2020 and is ranked as the top guard by ESPNW Hoopgurlz. She is a McDonald’s All-American and is a finalist for the Naismith Player Of The Year. As a junior, Hailey was named the Gatorade Player Of The Year in Washington and won numerous other awards with Team USA.

Van Lith had yet another stellar season for Cashmere High School. She followed up her 34 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 5 apg, and 5 spg as a junior with a remarkable 34 ppg, 9.5 rpg, and almost 5 apg as a senior. Hailey is going to bring a lot to the table for years to come at the University of Louisville. Coach Walz was quoted saying “Hailey brings with her a unique skill set with a Mamba mentality…”

Hailey, along with Canadian guard Merissah Russell, should be a lethal combination in the backcourt for Louisville for years to come. Fellow McDonald’s All-American forward Olivia Cochran and Ahlana Smith (a top junior college guard) round out another great class by the University of Louisville coaching staff.
