Earlier this week, Louisville Baseball coach, Dan McDonnell, spoke with the local media discuss various topics.
One of the major topics discussed is what his roster would look like come the fall. Apparently, due to Coronavirus, the MLB Draft may be shortened to 5 or 10 rounds. With less picks, Coach McDonnell believes it may lead to some players who would’ve gone in the draft to return to school.
However, don’t get your hopes up about talented pitchers Reid Detmers or Bobby Miller returning as they are likely both going to be first round picks. Detmers, according to Coach McDonnell, will likely be a top 10 pick.
He also discusses the value of Reid Detmers, infielder Andrew Benefield going into the transfer portal, and roster/scholarship relief so the baseball program can have more players.
