Louisville Men’s Basketball Holding Voter Registration Drive

Louisville Men’s Basketball held a peaceful march to protest police brutality and misconduct last weekend. This weekend, the program is taking even more action. The team will hold a voter registration drive at the Shawnee Park basketball courts this Saturday October 3rd.

The registration drive will commence at 11 am and end at 1 pm. Members of the team will be able to have some interaction with those in attendance. The interaction will be distanced due to Covid-19 safety precautions per the UofL press release. Anyone who is going to register to vote must be eligible. They must know their social security number, their birth date, their address, and have a valid KY driver’s license or photo ID on hand.

All individuals who attend must wear a mask and maintain 6 feet of distance per CDC Covid-19 guidelines. The election is on November 3rd while the deadline for anyone registering to vote is Monday October 5th. For more details, check out the UofL press release below.

UofL Men’s Basketball Leads Voter Registration Drive

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men’s basketball team will participate in a voter registration drive on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Shawnee Park basketball courts located at 4501 West Broadway in Louisville.

The team will be present at the event to encourage eligible individuals to register to vote and staff will assist in the registration process.  The deadline to register is Oct. 5 to vote in the Nov. 3, 2020 general election, just two days after the weekend event.  To register at the Shawnee Park event, individuals should know their social security number, date of birth, address and Kentucky driver’s license number.

There will be limited, distanced interaction with team members due to COVID-19 protocols.  Attendees must wear a mask and maintain social distancing of six-feet of space from other people.
