Louisville’s Javian Hawkins Named ACC Running Back Of The Week

Javian Hawkins put on quite the display on Saturday. The 5’9 redshirt sophomore RB nicknamed “PlayStation” lived up to that nickname as he gashed Florida State’s defense to the tune of 174 rushing yards and 3 rushing TDs. This included a spectacular 70 yard TD run half way through the first quarter. He reversed field, made a FSU defender miss, and was gone.

Hawkins effort on the field earned him ACC Running Back of the Week honors. Hawkins is one of two Cards who have been bestowed with Player of the Week honors. Braden Smith was named ACC Wide Receiver of the Week after his impressive performance in the opener against WKU. This was Hawkins first weekly honor this season, though it likely won’t be his last. Last season, Hawkins was named to the ACC Player of the Week list 3 times as both Running Back and Rookie of the Week.
