Louisville Athletics To Hold Toy Drive This Week

Louisville Athletics is holding a toy drive this week to benefit Norton Children’s Hospital and the Home for the Innocents. The toy drive is associated with Louisville Athletics CardsCARE program and Kyle’s Korner. Kyle’s Korner is a community outreach program established by Cardinal Forever Kyle Kuric.

This is an opportunity for the community to play Santa Claus for kids in need during this holiday season, which has been made tougher by the ongoing pandemic. Put on your Santa hats and jingle bells and let’s help bring joy to the world.

The drive will collect new toys at the entrances to the KFC Yum! Center on December 26th before the Cards matchup with arch-rival uk. However, there will be other times during the week when you can drop off your donation of a new toy for any gender. To view all the details about the when and where you can donate, check out UofL’s press release below:

Toy Collection at UofL’s Dec. 26 Men’s Basketball Game

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — New toys will be collected and subsequently donated to Norton Children’s Hospital and Home of the Innocents prior to the Cardinals’ Dec. 26 men’s basketball game against Kentucky.

New toys for any age or gender will be collected at the front entrances of the KFC Yum! Center, or may be dropped at the Cardinal Authentic store in the front of the arena on Monday through Wednesday between 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

The collection is associated with UofL Athletics’ CardsCARE program and Kyle’s Korner for Kids, the community outreach established in 2011 by former Cards’ forward Kyle Kuric while a UofL student. Kuric, who has been playing professional basketball for eight seasons and is currently with FC Barcelona in Spain, helped the Cardinals reach the 2012 Final Four (later vacated) as a senior.
