Louisville Football Releases 2021 Schedule

Fall seems so far away, but it’s never too early to think about football. Hopefully, this fall will be a normal one filled with tailgating, 3:30 pm kickoffs, and Cardinal wins. Today, we got a little taste of football as UofL released their 2021 football schedule.

It’s a 12-game schedule that will begin with the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff against SEC opponent Ole Miss in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Monday September 6th. That game is the first of four scheduled non-conference opponents. The other three non-con opponents are Eastern Kentucky on Saturday September 11th, UCF on Friday September 17th, and arch-rival uk on Saturday November 27th. All three of these non-con games will be home contests played at Cardinal Stadium.

Among conference games, Louisville will be splitting evenly home and road contests. The road games will be at Florida State on September 27th, at Wake Forest on October 2nd, at NC State on October 30th, and at Duke on a Thursday November 18th. At Cardinal Stadium, the Cards will play Virginia on October 9th, Boston College on October 23rd, Clemson on November 6th, and Syracuse on November 13th.

After a schedule with big changes last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Louisville has returned to their more traditional schedule. Obviously, things could change as we are still in the grips of the pandemic, but the hope is the pandemic will largely be behind us by the time the season begins. It’s a tough schedule, but Louisville looks to return to its 2019 form after a subpar 2020 campaign.
