Rodney Rice Set To Visit UofL For Louisville Live

Louisville men’s basketball has made top 75 4 Star guard Rodney Rice a priority in the 2022 class. The staff has been recruiting him hard for the better part of two years and are looking to close the recruitment with a commitment.

With that in mind, the 6’4 combo guard out of famed DeMatha Catholic High School is visiting Louisville on September 17th for Louisville Live. The annual showcase brings showmanship and fun to the beginning of preseason practice. It’s first couple of years, Louisville Live was held at 4th Street Live. This year, it has been moved to Churchill Downs and will take place just inside gate 1 during Downs After Dark. The official title for this year’s event is actually Downs After Dark: Horses and Hoops.

The event is designed to secure the commitment of someone the caliber of Rodney Rice. The spectacle showcases the passion of the fan base and usually has some very special guests in attendance to get fans, the team, and recruits popping. So far, the guests announced are members of the 1986 title team. Whether it will be the entire team or certain members is unknown, but having championship royalty in the house should definitely be something special for Rice. I’m sure there will be other guests as well. Some of the previous guests included Angel McCoughtry, Donovan Mitchell, and Louisville rap star Jack Harlow.

Rice is a smooth handling, smooth shooting guard that can score at all three levels. He’s an absolutely deadly shooter from beyond the arc and has a nice pull up from mid-range. He can drive and dish as well. His potential as a scorer is through the roof.

Rice is set to visit Virginia Tech before visiting UofL. They are considered to be the only real contender to the Cards for Rice. If he makes it out of his VA Tech visit, there’s a good chance Rodney Rice will become a Card. Only time will tell, but securing his visit for Louisville Live was a must. Hopefully, the staff can close the deal right after.
