-The Cardinals have come out victorious in seven of the last ten season openers, in which the program is 56-40-6 all-time.
-The program has only played four season openers at neutral sites (including the 2021 opener), sporting a 1-2 record.
-Louisville’s first appearance in the Chick-fil-A kickoff game came in a 2015 loss to Auburn (31-24).
-In five career games against an SEC opponent, Scott Satterfield is 1-4; the lone win comes against Mississippi State in 2019.
-“The Cardinals welcome back 31 players who started at least one game during the 2020 campaign, including three who started all 11 games — all coming on offense. Of the 31 players who started at least one game, 17 come on the offensive side of the ball and 14 were on defense.” (UofL Media Guide)
