Louisville Volleyball Opens Up ACC Slate with a Pair of Weekend Matches

Fresh off of a Sweet-16 appearance, the University of Louisville volleyball team has raced out to an early 10-0 start. The Cardinals have faced three ranked teams in that span, all in the top-10 currently (Purdue, Kentucky, and Nebraska). Eight of the 10 matches were straight sweeps, as the squad has only dropped four sets thus far. Louisville looks to extend the unbeaten streak as they begin ACC play at home this weekend against Miami and Florida State. Let’s dive into a quick preview of both matches.

Overview: The Hurricanes enter the weekend sporting a 9-1 record, with the only defeat coming at the hands of Central Florida (3-2). Like the Cardinals, Miami has won eight of their 10 matches in straight-set sweeps. Outside of the loss, the team has only dropped one set all season (Sept. 3 vs South Florida).

Florida State Preview

Overview: The Seminoles enter the weekend at 7-2, just outside of the AVCA Coaches’ Top-25 poll (16 votes received). Florida State has lost matches against Michigan and Central Florida as part of a strong non-conference schedule.
