Louisville Women’s Basketball Ranked in The Top 10

For the sixth consecutive year, the Louisville Women’s basketball team is ranked in the top 10 in the country. Louisville is currently ranked 6th in the country and is the second highest rated ACC team. Although Louisville is 6th, they didn’t receive any first-place votes. South Carolina (14), Connecticut (10), and reigning champions Stanford (5) were the only teams to receive first-place votes.

Louisville’s season will begin with an exhibition game against Union City (Tenn) on November 4th at 7 pm, followed by a season opening trip to Sioux Falls, S.D to take on Arizona Friday, November 12th. As of right now, Louisville has 8 ranked teams on their schedule: Arizona, Michigan, uk, UConn, Georgia Tech, NC State, FSU, and Virginia Tech.

Louisville Women’s Basketball Ranked Sixth in AP Preseason Poll

It marks the seventh consecutive season that Louisville has been ranked in the top 10 of the AP preseason poll and the 10th time in the past 11 years.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following a fourth straight Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title and a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight, the University of Louisville women’s basketball team has been ranked sixth in the Associated Press 2021-22 preseason poll.
 
The Cardinals were listed on all 29 ballots and received 575 points. It marks the seventh consecutive season that Louisville has been ranked in the top 10 of the AP preseason poll and the 10th time in the past 11 years.

Louisville hosts an exhibition at the KFC Yum! Center against Union University (Tenn.) on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. ET. They open the 2021-22 campaign against defending NCAA runner-up Arizona in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Friday, Nov. 12.
