On Monday, University of Louisville Field Hockey defender Alli Bitting was named to the NFHCA Senior team. The decorated Hummelstown, Pa. native has played a pivotal role for the program since coming to Louisville in 2017.

“Alli Bitting (Hummelstown, Pa.) was a defensive mainstay for a Louisville team that allowed just 18 goals in 20 games (an ACC-leading .848 goals allowed per contest) while posting seven shutouts. The fifth-year defender also registered three goals and dished out three assists. She was a 2021 Preseason All-ACC selection and earned conference Defensive Player of the Week honors in August.
The team co-captain established a solid resume, earning NFHCA All-America second team honors in 2019 and 2020. A three-time All-West Region selection, Bitting was also named to the 2020 NCAA All-Tournament Team following the Cardinals first-ever Final Four appearance.
Bitting also took home her third straight All-ACC nod this season.
The sixth-ranked Cardinals finished the 2021 season with a 16-4 overall record, matching a school record for wins Additionally, the Cardinals won the 2021 ACC regular season title after compiling a program-best 6-0 record in ACC play.”
