Louisville Football has filled one of its open staff positions today. After the departure of Mike Sirignano as strength and conditioning coach, UofL has replaced him with Ben Sowders. Sowders was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Georgia for the previous 4 seasons.
A Bowling Green, KY native, Sowders was a LB for his hometown Western Kentucky Hilltoppers before embarking on his current career. Heβs had numerous stops as both an assistant director and director of strength and conditioning. This includes being director of strength and conditioning at Gardner-Webb and McNeese State. He also served as assistant director of strength and conditioning at Southern Miss from 2012-2013. This was his first official college coaching position. Before joining Southern Miss, Sowders interned at Alabama for 6 months.
