The date is Jan. 15, and the Louisville men’s basketball program sits at 10-7 after its third consecutive loss. Pittsburgh defeated Louisville 65-53 inside the Peterson Events Center on Saturday. Pitt improves to 7-10 and 2-4 in the ACC.
There is not much that can be said about this one. Louisville is firmly out of the NCAA Tournament picture. It is safe to say right now that with seven weeks remaining in the season, we already know that the Cards will need to win the ACC Tournament if they want to play in the Big Dance.
The head coaching situation is already a major topic of conversation right now, and I fear that it’s a conversation we will continue having each week for the next two months. It is a convoluted situation for a multitude of reasons, but Chris Mack’s seat is on fire, and everyone knows it.
