Louisville Football’s 2022 schedule has been released! The Cards will have a schedule this year that features 6 true home and road games. Road opponents include Syracuse, UCF, Clemson, Virginia, Boston College, and arch rival Kentucky. Home contests include Florida State, South Florida, James Madison, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, and NC State.
The Cards first two games will be on the road at Syracuse and UCF. The Cards defeated both of those teams in 2021. The home opener will be against Florida State, whom UofL defeated on the road in 2021. USF then visits Cardinal Stadium before heading back on the road for two games against Boston College and Virginia. The Cards then have a bye before a 3-game home stand against Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, and James Madison. They close out the season with a road contest against Clemson, a home game against NC State, and finally the Battle for the Governor’s Cup against uk.
UofL is looking to improve on its 6-6 2021 regular season record. While the schedule is still tough due to many conference foes returning QBs that really played well against UofL’s defense last season, they also have a much more manageable non-conference schedule with UCF, USF, and James Madison. Winning 8 games is definitely in the realm of possibility for the 2022 Cards.
Below, you can read UofL’s official press release about the schedule.
